Earlier in the year we decided to give our website a whole new redesign and now we are happy to present to you the finished product! Here’s how and why we went about redesigning our website…
Information architecture workshops
As with every Eden Agency project, we usually start with some sort of workshop, whether that be a UX Design Sprint or an Information Architecture (IA) session. This time round, we decided the best option was to kick off with an IA session. In this workshop, we discussed where we wanted the Eden brand to go, how we wanted to be perceived, what the sitemap would look like and what goals we had for our new site.
New goals
One of the main reasons for updating and upgrading our website was the want for it to look “grown-up and joined-up”. We wanted our visitors to know exactly what Eden was about and what services Eden could offer.
Digital service offerings
We wanted visitors to know exactly what we are about, we achieved this by having a page dedicated to our expertise. We then listed some of the main service areas we cover in child-pages, which elaborate on what we can do:
- Mobile apps
- AI & innovation
- Web apps & Websites
- UX Design
- Immersive technology & 3D
- System integrations & team augmentation
- EDXF – Eden’s Digital Transformation Framework
Case studies
We’re proud of our work and we’re proud of the relationships we build with our clients and partners. We wanted a new website that could effectively highlight our work, we wanted it to take centre-stage and we wanted the content within the case studies to be more in-depth, each celebrating the success of the Eden-client relationship.
Accessibility
Nearly 1 in 5 people in the UK have a long-term illness, impairment or disability and this is always at the forefront of our minds when it comes to designing and developing for web. It is important in 2020 that the web is accessible, and we wanted to do our part. We have made sure that our new website conforms to all the W3C Web Accessibility Standards and is fully operable with VoiceOver.
Google’s Lighthouse test scores our site 100/100 for accessibility!
Eden Agency brand guidelines
Another product of the IA session was the introduction of the Eden Agency Brand Guidelines. With this, we were able to decide the tone-of-voice our website would have, as well as the rules for the use of our brand, keeping accessibility in mind.
